Auslan On

Project Mission:
To make learning Auslan joyful and accessible through visually engaging, tactile materials. This design suite supports early learners, families, and educators in exploring the language of Australia's Deaf community.

Design Deliverables:

• A–Z Flash Cards – each card features the letter in both upper and lowercase, paired with Auslan fingerspelling illustrations

• Illustration Style – expressive watercolour textures in blue and yellow evoke friendliness and vibrancy

• Packaging Design – a playful and practical box for storing the cards, designed to feel like a treasured learning tool

• Supporting Materials – posters and A5 cards featuring basic everyday Auslan signs for continued exploration

Role & Reflection:
As both a designer and Auslan user, I approached this project with lived experience. Every choice from palette to layout was made to invite curiosity while staying true to the language’s form and feel. The final set becomes more than a teaching tool. It’s a celebration of Deaf culture in every stroke and sign.
