Auslan Jibbitz

Client Request:
To create custom illustrations for Jibbitz-style charms that celebrate Deaf identity and language. These charms are designed to be worn on Crocs, which have become a vibrant trend among all ages.

Creative Goal:
The charms should visually connect to the Deaf community through symbolism, language, culture, and allow individuals to wear their identity proudly and playfully. The aim is to foster visibility, spark conversation, and create a sense of belonging for those who use Auslan or identify as Deaf.

My Role:
As a Deaf designer and illustrator, I was invited to bring my lived experience into the creative process. I focused on:

  • Auslan-inspired visuals – fingerspelling, handshapes, or dynamic signing movements

  • Emotionally resonant motifs – love, community, and strength.
