Oizys
Project Concept:
This magazine was inspired by Oizys, the lesser-known Greek goddess of suffering and grief. It reimagines her essence not as a haunting figure, but as a symbol of emotional depth shining a light on internal struggles that are often invisible. The project connects ancient mythology to contemporary mental health dialogue, creating space for softness, introspection, and solidarity.
Design Direction:
I leaned into visual storytelling with a gentle, illustrative style that allows readers to feel seen without judgment. The design invites reflection through:
Moody illustrations – watercolour textures, layered shadows, and ethereal figures that echo isolation, longing, and healing
Editorial layout – balanced negative space, calm typography, and flowing composition that mirror emotional ebbs and tides
Symbolic elements – broken statues, whispered winds, and quiet hands that allude to myth while rooting the reader in real feeling.
